It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Wall of Kindness

Visakhapatnam: The Lions Club Visakhapatnam has taken up an innovative initiative aimed at helping the needy in the city by setting up a ‘wall of kindness’ that was inaugurated recently at the club’s premises in Ramnagar by former district governor of the Lions Club, Professor Durga Prasad Rao.
The wall is located outside the Lions Club, Visakhapatnam (Ramnagar) and the facility enables those who are more privileged to donate items to the needy. This facility is accessible to all people, round the clock. Citizens can share their clothes, books, utensils, toys and other items that are in a good condition at the wall, from where those who are less privileged can come and pick up the items they need. The wall is based on the Persian charity phenomenon that advises one to “Leave what you don’t need” and “Take what you do”.
Many people have come forward to donate several items to serve the needs of those who are underprivileged. According to the members of the club, “People in need can directly come to this place and pick their items without being questioned. The wall of kindness encourages people to donate useful things as well as safeguarding the self-respect of the receiver. This concept is successful in other cities, hence we have started it in the city of destiny.”
