Lion M.S.S.Sarma , born on 25th July 1957, hails from an orthodox and traditional MANGALAMPALLI family in a village Katrenikona near Amalapuram of East Godavari District. He did his M.Tech, from I.I.T. Kharagpur in Mechanical Engineering discipline and joined FACOR ALLOYS LIMITED, Shreeramnagar in the year 1980. He started his career as Management Trainee and rose to the highest level of General Manager of this great company by the year 1998 and subsequently has been further elevated to the position of CHIEF EXECUTIVE of FACOR ALLOYS LIMITED in 2004. He achieved this deserving elevation as the UNIT HEAD, by virtue of his consistent and continuous hard work, dynamism and passion for excellence and perfection in all spheres of managerial functions of a corporate industry.

As much as the industrial sector in our country faced turbulence due to the adverse affects of privatization, liberalization and globalization policies of the Government introduced in nineties, the Ferro Alloys industry sustained huge losses due to market recession and as result, this company also has turned out to be a sick industry in 1998. Lion Sarma as the Head of the Institution stood like a rock in such crisis, implemented several reforms for revival of the factory operations in technical and administrative disciplines and made a wonderful TURN AROUND since the beginning of new millennium year 2000.

In the past two decades too, the industry faced up and downs due to fluctuating external market factors and to counter them, he has taken several initiatives and been successful in stabilizing the plant operations of the factory as of today. This is his ongoing success story of Lion MSS Sarma as a SUCCESSFUL TEAM LEADER.

He joined Lions Club of Shreeramnagar in the year 1980, served as its Secretary in 1985-86 and as President in 1987-88. He also served the district cabinet as Zone Chairman in 1988-89 and as Region Chairperson in 2005-06 and has been serving as District Chairperson for all these years.

He bagged Best Secretary Awards in the District and Multiple levels, a commendable achievement. He is the permanent Secretary of the Lions Club of Shreeramnagar Charitable Trust under whose auspices; our Club’s prestigious permanent service project ‘O.E.U. Lions Eye Hospital’ is rendering exemplary services in the “Sight First Campaign” on continuous basis for over four decades, for the benefit of the Society.

He is also instrumental in running another service project called LIONS DISABLED SCHEME launched by Lions Club of Shreeramnagar since 2017. Under this scheme, the Club adopted the “differently-abled” children of the Residential Schools of local voluntary service organization Woman and Child Welfare Center and taking hundred percent care of these students in their food and studies on day to day basis.

Both these service projects of his home club- Lions Club of Shreeramnagar are self sufficient and are hence running successfully without any dearth of Funds, thus setting as inspiring living examples for other Lions Clubs to follow and adopt for strengthening of their service activities.

Lion Sarma is happily married to Lion Seetha Mahalakshmi and is blessed with two children Chy.Kiran & Chy.Silpa.
